A FRESH START

well hey! it's been a while, over a month i think, yeah sorry about that, it was a busy month in December, we had Christmas, New Years and my head wasn't in the right mind frame for blogging and when it was, I just didn't want to think about blogging or anything to do with it.

I have had plenty of time to think about where I want to go with this blog and what I want to do with it as well.

so now, we are kinda up to speed (in a nut shell because we don't need to hear all the detail) and I am here and happy to tell you, Utterly Brooke Lea has a new fresh start which I am super happy with.

I decided to create a portfolio type thing where I can blog sometimes and share many of my photos on my portfolio page. you can see new photos, that I will try to add in while there is no post (that is if I remember and have new pictures to share). I hope you guys like this idea as much as I do and I am excited to share more of my pictures with you. you can also see my instagram pictures, just click the instagram page next to the portfolio page.
and don't worry, I will blog sometimes, just when I feel like it and when I have many ideas.

so, I hope you enjoy this new change and enjoy exploring many of my photos. I have done a huge revamp for this blog and its taken lots of my time but I am really happy with how it turned out, there's fresh content in my about page and if you are looking for my 'faq' you can find it there. I am so excited to bring you fresh good quality content that isn't rushed, as last year it seemed I had very low quality, rushed content.
talking about a fresh start to ring in the new year!

well that's quite enough writing / reading for one post so I will leave you now with some pictures taken in October by Bella.

much love and many thanks - brooke.

LITTLE LIFE UPDATE / 02

hello again.

Recently has been pretty hectic, lots of school and assignments, days where you just want to do anything but school but I have to keep on remembering - holidays are coming, holidays are coming. Ahh I am so excited for the holidays, I am finally meeting Bella of Miss Bella Boo and its gonna be a sick as time with lots of photo taking and talking to be done!

I was going to do a fashion post for you guys but I woke up and decided that I wasn't in the fashion post mood so I went through some of my older posts and found my 'little life update' and I thought that it was perfect for today's post. This is a bit of a chatty post so grab a cuppa or some drink and sit down and have a read through.

First up on my notes to talk about is the shopping trip I had last week. I had a bit of left over birthday money to spend so I decided to treat myself to a bit of retail therapy. It makes me very happy to find something I like. I went to a few places but my 2 favourite shops were definitely Kikki K and Lush. I decided to chose one thing from each shop to talk about here.

I absolutely love this, I haven't really ever been one for toners, but I have heard some really good things about the ones at Lush. The lady told me that it was pretty much beach in a bottle and I thought that was great as I really love the beach. I haven't really noticed any changes but I have noticed my face doesn't feel as pulled and its just easy to spritz on when I am feeling like a bit of a refresh.

You guys, no one probably really knows how much I love these pens. They write so wonderful and are just the best pens to have. Now don't get me wrong - I love all my Kikki K pens but, the slim ballpoint ones are my favourite! This is my second packet of these and I have these pens in my school pencil case and around my room, I even think someone stole one as they just loved writing with it so much which was a bit of a sad day for me but a good day for them!

In other news, I have been reading a lot, I think I told you about my book goals in my last update. I am happy to say I finished the Harry Potter series and I even got the new book which I quite liked and read in less than 24 hours - oops?! Last month I read The Selection series by Kiera Cass which were really good, they were sorta like a book version of The Bachelor, oh and speaking of The Bachelor who else was dissapointed when Alex won, I was sooo team Nikki and was pretty damm annoyed about the finale! Anyway, completely off topic there! My next book is going to be The Dressmaker by Rosalie Ham, I watched the movie and really loved it and I didn't know there was a book until my Mum gave me it to wrap up for her for Christmas. I am excited to read it and see what it is like.

oh and yes, I am in my dressing gown - haha, it was actually pretty cold!

On the first of September I got my new phone. I had been saving up for a new one for quite a while and worked quite hard to be able to purchase it. I decided to get a iPhone 6 but there wasn't any in my local area but there was a sale for the iPhone 6s and so I decided to get it. I got the silver one and I am completely in love with it. I do spend a lot of time on it and that probably needs to change, at least at school it doesn't get used but on weekends I give it a bit of a workout. Oh and my cover is from Sportsgirl if any of you are wondering.

Another something I have to show is my new favourite earrings. They are still pretty new as I got them on Friday but I am totally in love with them, I have been wearing them all weekend and they don't infect my ears which is an added bonus because a lot of earrings do. I just like how simple they are but they are quite pretty, I got a few compliments on them today.

This blog has been getting a bit rejected and its needing a bit more love, so I am planning on customizing it a bit but I also really don't know what I am doing - haha - I think maybe a new logo and a bit of an update on my pages will help it as well as some other design aspects. I do blogging as a hobby and sometimes it does get a bit much to keep up so that's why there is always a bit of a big gap in my posts. I don't want to be on a blogging schedule because that makes me stressed when I don't put a post up but I do want to blog a bit more regularly but also not be pressured into posting.

I recently started to do some yoga, I have already found it very enjoyable even though sometimes it can be a bit painful. It is something nice to do when you are stressed and need something to take your mind off. it. I even find myself not thinking about anything which is really good especially after a long day at school. I would really recommend yoga to anyone who gets stressed or just wants to relax more, its so worth the pain!

I have been really inspired recently and I don't know why but I am embracing it, I think it is because the weather is getting more warmer and its close to summer but then again I am not too sure its that because its been quite cold recently, come on spring weather, I wanna wear my shorts again! Inspiration is a funny thing, it comes and goes which is weird, sometimes I don't really know why I get inspired but when I do I like it. So I shall leave you here with some inspiration for anyone that really needs it right now, I hope this makes you feel better and makes you put a smile on your dial. Just remember - you are worth it!

'live for the moments you can't put into words, you're imperfect, and you're wired for struggle, but your are worthy of love and belonging, be brave enough to dream, dream so big that you can't think of a negative thing to think about, it doesn't matter what others are doing - it matters what YOU are doing. dream big, find wonder, choose love, give thanks, smile more, live simply.'

talk soon - brooke.

FIFTEEN

hello!

today I am fifteen, fifteen years old (or young), that is seriously crazy!

Today August the 25th is my birthday, it is also 4 months until Christmas but my birthday is more important (well, today anyway!) and I have had such a great day so far, even though I had to go to school *crying emoji*. Tonight I am going out for dinner which should be so much fun!

I didn't really get much as I asked for money so I could save up for something that I would like, but some other things I got were; 2 scarves, a really pretty candle and a crystal hanging decoration. I feel so spoilt and very thankful at the same.

I decided that I would write this blog post today because I thought that it would be fun to share some of my hopes and goals for this coming year.

HOPES / GOALS:
to be more creative
to be more original
to learn more skills with photography
to be happy
to make lots of yummy food.. and eat that food
to live in the moment
to be more active
to swim and play golf more

FOR THIS BLOG:
to collaborate with more people
to feel inspired to blog
to make this blog more of my own
to make some awesome content

thank you all so much for all the birthday wishes, I hope 15 will be fun, exciting and awesome, I am excited for all the opportunities that shall come!

until next time - brooke.

LITTLE LIFE UPDATE // 01

hello!

I am Brooke, a fashion and lifestyle blogger and sometimes I do other things, like today! Its been a while, two weeks seems like quite a long time but it isn't really, not when its almost the end of June! Today I felt like doing something a bit different, a chatty post if you will, where I give you a post on whats been happening with my life, this blog and anything else I feel like saying. Fun? Yeah probably not but hey, someone may like these kinds of posts, I actually quite like reading these types of posts and why don't I include some pictures to make this more interesting? There we go, I got some more people interested - haha.

I am so excited to say that I am meeting up with one of my best friends who is a blogger very soon, I will give you one guess on who it could be, you got it yet!? If not, well looks like you will be in silence for a while. AHH I AM SO EXCITED!!!

Since my last post, a fashion post, I have just had absolutely no inspiration for photo taking and blog posting (is that even a word?) because once I publish a post that I don't like, in this case I wasn't happy with the photos (they definitely could have been taken at a better location instead of against a wall of our house) I just hate my blog and any ideas I have for this little corner of the internet. The title wasn't good but it rhymed so maybe that's why I went with it, I really need help with making titles of my blog posts more exciting.

This month I have been reading some books to get to my small goal of reading 12 books this year and I am happy to say I have read over 12 books so thank you to the Harry Potter series for helping me achieve this goal, mind you I am only on the Half Blood Prince and it has taken me a year to get up to the sixth book - I know, its kinda sad.

Its been quite cold over the last week and I, being the cold person I am, can not seem to warm up! It got to a high of 10 degrees the other day, and it was so cold! The rain was cold and the wind was so icy but why am I complaining? I LOVE winter the most out of all the seasons, why you may ask? Well one it is my birthday and all the other reasons include laziness, wood fires, blankets, flannelette sheets, rain on the roof and hot dinners.

I think its time I change up my blog a bit but being the un-technological person I am, that probably won't happen because, where do I even start? I question my blogging a lot, and just decide its probably safe to stay with the design I have just in case I suddenly completely ruin my blog, which could happen and I don't think I would be happy with that.

Well I believe I am out of things to talk about, I really did think I would go on and on and on because that's what I usually do, but hey. At least its a blog post that I am quite happy with. Oh and did you notice how I put a '01' on the title, well that's because I will most likely do more of these, let me know what you think about my chatty posts.

And now to what I always say at the end of my posts and never actually do, I hope to be back blogging soon and may the inspiration vibes come my way, but they never actually seem to, so that's sad and hence why I really don't give this blog the love it does deserve.

Well if you got to the end of this post, give yourself a pat on the back, I am very proud of you, seriously, I wrote a lot and for you to read my blog means a lot to me. So now you are updated on my little life. I hope you stay a while, dance in the rain, smile and be happy!
until next time, brooke
