BIRTHDAY WISHLIST // 2016

hello!

Today is a bit of a shorter post but an exciting one because its my BIRTHDAY WISHLIST!! My birthday is in 32 days on August the 25th and I am super excited about it! Its so weird to be saying that August is 8 days away, like where has this year gone? This year I will be turning 15 years old which is crazy to me because I definitely still don't feel 14 but bring on the year of fifteen!

I know that my birthday is over a month away but I like to feel prepared for my birthday by making a wishlist of all the things that would be lovely to receive, but I know I won't be getting everything but its fun making them anyway, this year I made mine on Photoshop! The links to any of the products are in pink below if you wish to view them for yourself.

Lowepro Format 160 Camera Bag // My camera came with a bag but I really don't like it as it isn't very protective and extremely big, so I have researched a lot of camera bag brands and Lowepro seems to be the best one to go with, I really like how it can hold lots yet it is small and very protective.

Harry Potter and The Cursed Child // I must find out what happens after Harry Potter and the script book that comes out on July 31st is perfect for that! If I can't go to London to see the play then the script book shall be the next best thing!

A Little Bit Crafty // A Little Bit crafty is a book made by the people that bring you Frankie Magazine, its full of lots of crafty things to do, so fun!

iPhone 6 // Since my other iPhone completely died I have decided to save up my money to buy a new iPhone, I decided on the iPhone 6 with the silver back as I think its really nice.

Converse // Ever since my old converse became too small I have been wanting some more and I think my feet have finally stopped growing so I can get some that will last longer than a season!

The Intern book // I read the first chapter of this at school and I got really into it, it seems like a really good book to read, so that's what shall be done!

Well that's it for this post! I hope you enjoyed this type of post. Have a great week.
until next time - brooke.

SINGING HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY IN THE RAIN

YOU GUYS, TODAY IS UTTERLY BROOKE LEA'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!!

Today this blog turned one years old, one years old, that's crazy to me! This year has lead to so many wonderful opportunities like being a promoter for Tutu's and Tambourines, being able to collaborate with some amazing bloggers and make new friends! I absolutely love blogging and hope to continue it for more years to come! I feel so special to think that I have so many readers who support me and my blog and love the content I produce. And I feel even more honored that I reached 7500 views on my blog today! I would like to thank everyone who has supported me to get where I am today.

Blogging has been a huge challenge for me and I try not to let it show, I do struggle to find inspiration for blog posts and I compare myself to other bloggers a lot, this isn't the greatest thing to do especially when you want to create unique and creative posts. I am always wanting to post content for my readers and I try to every week but it gets very hard but over the last few weeks I have stopped worrying about posting every week and posting when I feel like it because this blog is something I like to do and I don't want it to become something I don't want to do. Trust me I have thought about stopping plenty of times but I am so glad I continue to do it!

I was actually quite puzzled about what to post to celebrate but one morning when it was raining I had some inspiration to go outside and take some photos and dance in the rain! I then got the idea to use these photos as a dancing in the rain celebration and I actually love how these turned out, especially as they were taken on self timer.

So here's to one year of blogging, I hope you stay a while and keep reading my posts,
Much love - Brooke x

WHATS IN MY PENCIL CASE +++ VIDEO

hello!

Can you believe how fast the school holidays went by!? I can't! Unfortunately, I have to go back to school on Monday, much to my dismay. These holidays have been really chilled - we visited family over Christmas, stayed home, went to go see the new Star Wars movie (which btw is ah-mazing!), went swimming, watched movies at home, had a sleepover with my friends, spent lots of money and took lots of photos!

Anyway, today I am going to show you what's in my pencil case for 2016! I think pencil cases are the best part of going back to school - except for seeing your friends of course! I was in need of a new pencil case and when I saw this one from Typo, I knew I had to get it.
So here is what's in my pencil case:

+ PENS:
I like to keep a blue, black and red pen with me at all times. I don't really ever use a red pen but I guess its just one of those essential things to have.

+ LEAD PENCILS:
Again, lead pencils are essential as I use lead pencils in art and maths because I know if I make a mistake it can be easily erased!

+ HIGHLIGHTERS:
To highlight my many notes and all those important things that teachers want you to highlight.

+ PERMANENT TEXTA:
I actually don't know why I like to keep one in my pencil case as I don't really use it but I guess its one of those things to have.

+ SHARPENER:
Because I need to make sure all of my pencils are kept sharp!

+ WHITE OUT:
For my endless pen mistakes.

+ USB:
I like to save all my school work on my USB just so I know its with me at all times and is safe in y care.

+ SCIENTIFIC CALCULATOR:
At my school we have to use this particular calculator and I never know when I might need it so I keep it in my pencil case.

+ GLUE STICK:
Again, this is something I don't need as I just slip all my sheets into my folders but for that rare time that we do need to stick something in our books, I have one to use.

+ SISSORS:
Also something I hardly use as we rarely need to cut anything up but its there in case I do need it.

+ COLOURED PENCILS:
I use these pencils mainly for art but I like to keep them in my pencil case, it also is handy when the teacher asks you to make things pretty!

So that's what I keep in my pencil case (I also keep a ruler but I must find one that's small enough for this pencil case) for this school year.
Also below is my 'January Favourites ++ Haul' video if you wanna watch it. Its full of my favourite things from this month as well as a bit of a haul because after I got my braces off I went shopping! You can also access the video and my channel here.

Until next time,

BROOKE'S CHRISTMAS FAVOURITES

hello, hello!
Can you believe Christmas is tomorrow!? TOMORROW PEOPLE!! Ahh I am so, so, so excited, actually, excited is a huge understatement! I am one of those people who would happily decorate for Christmas in November and listen to Christmas music all year round! I mean, Christmas music shouldn't just be for the month of December right? In fact I am listening to my favourite Xmas tunes while I write this post!!

Anyways to celebrate the fact that Christmas is literally around the corner I have compiled a few of my favourite Christmas items to make into a Merry + Bright Christmas Post!!

The first item is my absolute favourite Christmas book, John Williamson's Christmas in Australia!

This has been my favourite book ever since I was younger, I even remember bringing to school in grade 1 and my teacher reading it to my class! My favourite line in this book has to be "Yum, yum pigs bum, Christmas pudding, all the ladies do the cooking".

The second item is Christmas Related Craft.

I love to do craft and when Christmas rolls around I always organize so craft to do in the school holidays with my brother and sister, we gift most gifts off to friends and family and keep our favourite ones.

The third item is Christmas Wrapping Paper.

My favourite thing to do at Christmas time is wrap presents! I am a fan of the decorated wrapping paper, these two wrapping paper rolls are from Big W.

The fourth item is my favourite Christmas movie, Mickey's Twice Upon A Christmas.

I have loved this movie ever since I remember! It includes 4 or 5 (I can't remember) mini movies with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto and many more characters.

The fifth item is Christmas Cards.

Christmas cards are my favourite! This year the one on the left is my favourite, it was given to my sister and the joke on the front made me giggle when I first saw it on our Christmas card display.

The sixth item is Christmas Countdowns!

Every year we have this countdown out and we countdown the sleeps until Christmas. Its always a good feeling when you get to change it to an 0 something, my favourite been 00 sleeps until Christmas!

The seventh and last item is my favourite Christmas tunes

These songs have been on repeat (and some not always on repeat) this Christmas! This year my absolute favourite song has been 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)' by Michael Buble.

Well that's all my favourite Christmas items this year! I hope you enjoyed this Christmassy post and I hope you have a fantastic Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

hyvää joulua. Feliz Nevidad. Bon Nadal. Craciun Fericit. god Jul.
(Finnish) (Spanish) (Catalan) (Romanian) (Swedish)

Merry Christmas,
x B

BIRTHDAY HAUL // 2015

hello lovelies!
As you can probably tell by the title of this video, today I am doing a birthday haul for you all!! Over the last few weeks I have been deciding wether or not to do a birthday haul, I wasn't going to but on Wednesday I decided that I would film a birthday haul for my YouTube, so that's what I did!
Yes, I know my birthday was a month ago (1 month and 2 days to be precise) but better late than never! This year I celebrated my 14th birthday and yesterday when I was on my blog editing I realised that I still hadn't changed my age from 13 to 14, I probably should go do that! I am very excited to see what new challenges 14 brings!
I had so much fun filming this video, which was filmed on an old Kodak, which is why the quality isn't that great! But it is the content and the point of the video that matters right?! Please don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel here because I have some very exciting videos coming your way! Below is the video plus some photos of everything I got!

Thankyou to everyone who got me something and also thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday, I am so grateful!
Much Love - Brooke xo

WINTER ESSENTIALS

hello, hello!
At the moment it has been freezing where I live, meaning it's the perfect time for movies by the fire, snuggly blankets and warm jumpers.
So today I thought I would show you some of my winter essentials.
Gumboots.
Gumboots are perfect for jumping in puddles and you can get them in so many different colours and patterns which I love!
Jumpers.
Jumpers are one of the most essential items of winter. They keep you warm and they look super-duper cute! The top ones are from FREE by Cotton On and Cotton On.
Blankets.
Blankets are good because sometimes its just good to sit in a chair wrapped up in a blanket to read, blog or watch movies.
Movies.
Movies are perfect for those cold, rainy days when all you feel like doing is absolutely nothing!
Books.
Essential to keep you occupied for hours on end! Stay tuned for my favourite reads, coming soon!
Tea or hot chocolate.
Hot drinks are sure to keep you warm in winter!
Fire / Heater.
In winter, I love to stay near our fireplace.
Craft Supplies.
How cool is this craft carousel given to me from my Aunty!? This stores some of my washi tape, my Posca pens, pencils and other bits and bobs. I love doing craft when the weather is yuck!
That wraps up this post for today. Another post will be up in a few days, hopefully it will be another DIY video, fingers crossed!
